What are cookies? #
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. They help the site work properly and remember things like whether you are logged in.
The cookies we use #
We keep things simple. The Pro-cess platform itself only uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work. We do not use advertising cookies. On our own website, if you accept cookies, we use first-party storage to run our live chat and Google Analytics to understand how visitors browse, so we can improve the site and offer help at the right moment. You can decline this and the site still works.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| process_*_session | Keeps you logged in and remembers your session as you move between pages | 8 hours | Essential |
| XSRF-TOKEN | Protects you against cross-site request forgery attacks. This is a security measure | 2 hours | Essential |
| remember_web_* | Keeps you logged in between visits if you tick "Remember me" on the login page | 5 years | Essential |
| cookie_consent | Remembers your cookie choice ("essential only" or "accept all") so we do not ask again | 1 year | Essential |
| engage_uid | A first-party identifier for our live chat, and, if you choose "Accept all", for visitor analytics (the pages you view, how long you stay, how far you scroll). Created when you start a chat or accept cookies. Lets us link your chat to your session and recognise a returning visitor. Stored in your browser. | localStorage (until you clear it) | Live chat |
| engage_token_* | Lets you resume your live-chat conversation if you reload the page or come back later. Only set once you start a chat. Stored in your browser. | localStorage (until you clear it) | Live chat |
Third-party cookies #
We do not set advertising cookies. If you choose "Accept all", we load Google Analytics to measure how the site is used. Some other services we use may also set their own cookies when they load on a page, so that they work properly.
| Service | Cookies | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | _ga, _ga_* | Only loaded if you choose "Accept all". Measures how visitors use our site (pages viewed, sessions, approximate location) so we can improve it. The data is shared with Google. |
| Google Maps | NID, 1P_JAR, CONSENT | Set by Google when maps or address autocomplete loads on a page. Used by Google to remember preferences and prevent abuse. |
| Stripe | __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Set by Stripe when payment forms load. Used for fraud detection and to process payments securely. |
Google Maps and Stripe set their cookies on their own domains. Google Analytics cookies are set on pro-cess.co.uk, but the data they collect is shared with Google. We have no control over how Google or Stripe use this data. You can find more detail in Google's cookie policy and Stripe's cookie policy.
Managing cookies #
You control the non-essential cookies (our live-chat analytics and Google Analytics) through the banner when you first visit, by choosing "Essential only" or "Accept all". The essential cookies are needed for the platform to work properly, so if you block those through your browser settings, some parts of Pro-cess may not function as expected.
Most browsers let you view and manage cookies in their settings. Here is how to do it in the most common browsers:
- Chrome - Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies
- Firefox - Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data
- Safari - Preferences, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data
- Edge - Settings, then Cookies and Site Permissions
Changes to this policy #
We will update this page if we start using additional storage, and we will always ask for your consent before setting anything non-essential. Our analytics, both our own live-chat analytics and Google Analytics, are only activated after you choose "Accept all".
